Mentryville resident Darryl Manzer, age 11 or 12 (b. Jan. 14, 1950), looks out the window of the field office (which he knew as the foreman's shack) next to the road leading up CSO Hill. The famous CSO No. 4 oil well is visibile in the lower-right-hand corner.

Photo late 1961 or January 1962 by Richard Trueblood for a story by A.B. Perkins.
