Newhall School Fire, 1939
Newhall, California

Newhall Elementary School, then known simply as Newhall School, moved to the corner of Walnut and Eleventh Streets in 1928 and burned to the ground on Valentine's Day, 1939. It was the third time in the 60 year history of Newhall school buildings that the school burned down. (It was in different locations the other times.) Photograph attributed to Millie O'Neal.
