Locator Map: New Era School
Bouquet Canyon

Location of the New Era schoolhouse in Bouquet Canyon. It was just around the bend on Bouquet Canyon Road, north of the Suraco adobe. It is on the grounds of what became the (now former) L.A. County juvenile probation Camp Joseph Scott.

Detail from this Auto Club map from the 1920s; the school was still being used in the 1940s.

In a televised interview conducted in about 2004, Minnie Anne Helvey Murphy said her father built the school in 1924.
