Color bearer in Newhall's 1940 Fourth of July Parade.

The color bearer is believed to be Charles Kingsburry as seen here in 1934. He's not identified on the back of the photograph, which merely shows the date and "Newhall, Calif.," along the inscription, "On march again!"

At the time, this street was called Spruce. It was later renamed San Fernando Road and still later, Main Street.
