Florence Mei-Ho Chan
Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Business Services

Florence Chan passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Henry Mayo Hospital in Valencia, CA, ending her courageous four and a half year fight against cancer.

Florence was born on September 2, 1944, and grew up in Taipei, Taiwan. This was also where she met her husband, Steve. She moved to Los Angeles and married Steve on February 1, 1969. Florence and Steve moved to Valencia in 1977 where they raised their children, Debbie and Michael. She worked in the business services department for Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital for 18 years before retiring.

Florence was the heart of her family. Her first thought was always the happiness and well-being of those around her, which she contributed to with her warm smile, laughter, and kindness. Her favorite activity was talking with friends and family, whether on the phone or in person over a good meal. She was incredibly excited upon the arrival of her first grandchild, Madeline.

She is survived by Steve Chan, her husband of 46 years, her children Debbie and Michael, Michael's wife Jennifer, granddaughter Madeline, and her younger sisters Mei-Ping and Mei-Ling Chung.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015, in Chapel of the Hills at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321.
