Wendy Sproul Vosburg

Wendy Sproul Vosburg, 58, passed away on October 7, 2013 in Santa Maria, CA surrounded by her family after a brave 20 year fight with cancer. Wendy was born on March 25, 1955 in Van Nuys, CA to Myron and Karma Sproul, and grew up in Saugus, CA. Wendy attended Santa Clarita Elementary School, Arroyo Seco Junior High, and graduated from Hart High School in 1973. She went on to college at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and graduated with a degree in English. Wendy fell in love with the Central Coast and stayed in San Luis Obispo until 2004. She then moved to Santa Maria.

Wendy worked for Pacific Gas and Electric at Diablo Canyon Power Plant. She worked there for 34 years as the executive assistant to the plant vice president and made many long and lasting friendships there. The most important friend she made there was Dave Vosburg whom she fell in love with. Dave and Wendy were married on October 2, 2004, and have lived a wonderful and happy life since then.

Wendy is survived by her husband, Dave Vosburg; stepchildren, Brandon, Taryn, Alia, and Colton Vosburg; father, Myron Sproul; sister, Christine Sproul (Nancy Hull); brother, David Sproul (Gordon Watanabe); sister, Rebecca Sproul Sweeney (Patrick Sweeney); nieces, Erin Hull and Sarah Hull; nephews, Cameron Sweeney and Wyatt Sweeney; great niece, Madison Hull; great nephews, Tyler, Thomas, Trevor Martinez; and her beloved cat, Mocha. Wendy was dearly loved by all who knew her. She had a kind spirit and a gentle, unassuming nature. She met her many challenges with grace, humor, and bravery. Her enduring positive attitude was truly an inspiration to us all. She will be deeply missed by her husband, her family, and her friends.
