argaret Winefred Warmuth, 80, died Feb. 9, 2006, in Oxnard after a brief illness. She was born to Herbert and Flora Moore on May 8, 1925, in Dawson, Okla.
Margaret's family moved from Oklahoma to Newhall in 1935. She first saw her future husband, the cowboy with jingling spurs, walk up to her window where she worked at the Bank of America. Margaret married Joe Warmuth in 1945. They brought four children into the world: Joleen, Margleen, Mike and Bill. Margaret was very active at St. Mark's Lutheran Church of San Fernando as a Sunday school teacher, superintendent of Sunday school and president of the Altar Guild.
Since 1962, Warmuth Honey House, a family business, kept her busy with honey sales, the Honey museum and gift shop, the Honey Queen Program of California and Honey Advisory Board of California.
Her love of genealogy took her on research trips and she gave lectures on researching in Oklahoma. She was active in the San Fernando Valley Genealogical Society and Conejo Valley Genealogical Society.
Margaret's love for the beach and lighthouses took her to Oxnard after the passing of her husband in 1984. She became an active docent in the Ventura County Maritime Museum. Sharing her knowledge was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her children, Joleen Dull of Bakersfield, Margleen Jordan of Lancaster, Mike Warmuth of Maui, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her brothers, Earl (Lorraine) Moore of Lancaster and Bob Moore of Reddings, Calif.
The family invites everyone to the viewing on Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Eternal Valley. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 N. Sierra Hwy., Newhall, 661-259-0800.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a fund to purchase a gift to be given to the Ventura County Maritime Museum in Margaret's name. Contact Margleen Jordan at 661-373-6529.
Her family wrote, "She will be greatly missed by her children and many, many friends."

Webmaster's note: In 2005, College of the Canyons (the Santa Clarita Community College District) purchased the Warmuth Honey House property for part of its East Campus (Canyon Country Educational Center).
