Newhall, Calif. February 28, 1923.
Meeting of the Newhall Chamber of Commerce, called to
order at 8 o'clock P.M. in Hap-a-lan Hall by President Swall.
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved.
The committee on Constitution and By-laws reported through A.B.
Perkins. After some discussion and slight alterations the Constitution and By-laws presented
by the committee was adopted.
Mrs. Perkins reported for the committee on six months program.
This report was accepted and ordered filed. The President thanked the members of this committee
and relieved them of further duty along this line.
Motion passed that a Board of Directors be elected and that the
Secretary be instructed to mail out Nominating ballots, within ten days, to all paid up members
of that date, a list of all paid up members to accompany each ballot and that the nominations
be declared at next meeting.
Moned and carried that the officers just elected hold office for the
remainder of the year and that only five more members of the Board of Directors be elected
at this election.
Motion passed that the Treasurer and Secretary be authorized to purchase
such supplies as needed by them.
A motion was passed that a committee of three be appointed by the
President, to devise a suitable letter head and seal for the use of the organization, report
to be presented at next meeting. The following were appointed A.G. Thibaudeau, A.B.
Perkins and Blanche B. Brown.
Motion passed that the President appoint two teams to secure members.
P.C. Miller and R.R. Carr were appointed and instructed to choose whoever they wished to
assist them.
The following were appointed Judges of Election A.H. Wilkie,
Mrs. Evangeline Frew, Mrs. Berneice E. Miller, W.J. Purrucker and Bob Anderson.
There being no further business the meeting was adjoured to 7:30 P.M.
March 14th at Hap-a-lan Hall.
