Jereann Bowman
March 13, 1921 - March 22, 1995
Jereann Bowman came to Newhall in 1927. Hart High School
was not built when Jereann was a teenager, and she was bused to
San Fernando High School. As an adult she was active in the com-
munity and served on the Hart Board of Trustees from 1963 to
1969. She understood kids with special problems and was active
in pushing for the establishment of a continuation school for the
Santa Clarita Valley area. Bowman High School opened Septem-
ber 29, 1969 next to Canyon High School and moved to its present
location in 1992.
