What does time mean to you?

Time. People may take time for granted, but try to imagine what life would
be without it. Since the beginning of the human race, we have measured time. Our
ancestors used hourglasses, sundials, and special calendars for farming and
religious ceremonies. As time passed by, people have created new technologies for
measuring time. Clocks and bells excusing us to our next period control our school
                 days.

We at Castaic Middle School have learned that there is a time for
everything: a time to learn, to laugh, and to study. Time seems especially
important here because during projects and homework, we have to use our time
sensibly. Ifwe wait until the last moment to do our work, there is a great chance
for us to fail our assignment. But if we do our work in advance, we will succeed
and will be happy with our results.

But things that have to do with time don't aH have to do with work. After
third and fifth period, there is always time for nutrition and lunch where we
socialize with our peers, eat, and take a break from our classes. We know when to
have fun and we know when to work and that is why we have so many good times
                 · at Castaic Middle School.
