                   Committee  kicked-oft  an  aggresuive  voter  r egistration
                   program  this  w  ek,         They  announced  tha t  their  goal  is  to
                   r e gister  5000  new  votera  by  OQcember  15th.


                   " If we  can  r egiat-ar  just  5000  of  tha  more  than  30,000
                   unregi  ter ed  e ligible  voters  in  Santa  Cla rita  our  new  city
                   wi ll  r e ceive  a n  additional  $2,000,000  t rom  the  state  bet ween
                   now and  l990t"  stated  Councilmon                                   "'Ihat's money
