HALFBACK-END  JIM  STEFFEN
                                            Steffen,  UC LA's  captain,  is  one  of  the  Bruins'  most
                                            va luable  performers.  A  fin e  runner  a nd  pass  re-
                                            ceiver  J im  is  also  a  good  punter,  fie ld  g oa l  and
                                            kickoff  man.  Steffen,  a  6'  I 96-pound  Senior  earned
                                            his  first  Varsity  letter  last  year  playing  end.  Jim
                                            now  plays  either  right e nd  or  tailback.

                                                                   O glesby,  a  rangy  st rong  tackle,  is  one of the stand-
                                                                   outs  in  the  Bruin  line.  A  Junior  Paul  is  a  6'4"
                                                                   228-pound  letterman  with  a  promising  future  at
