APPROVAL OF AN OPERATING AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES FOR
PLACERITA CANYON STATE PARK
(SUPERVISORIAL DISTRICT 5) (3 VOTES)

SUBJECT

Approval of a 50-year Agreement, with a 50-year extension option, between the State of
California and the County of Los Angeles for the operation, maintenance, development,
and control of Placerita.Canyon State Park.

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOUR BOARD:

1. Find the proposed Operating Agreement categorically exempt from the California
Environmental Quality Act in accordance with Section 15301 and Class 1 of the
Environmental Document Reporting Procedures and Guidelines, adopted by your
Board on November 17, 1987 because the project consists of operation and
licensing of an existing facility.

2. Delegate authority to the Director of Parks and Recreation, or his designee, to
execute a 50-year Operating Agreement between the State of California and the
County of Los Angeles for the operation, maintenance, development, and control
of Placerita Canyon State Park, and all future amendments, modifications,
extensions, renewals and augmentations to said Operating Agreement if it is
deemed necessary and in the best interest of the County of Los Angeles.

3. Approve and adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the Director of Parks and
Recreation as an agent for the County of Los Angeles, to accept and execute the
Operating Agreement between the State of California and the County of Los
Angeles for Placerita Canyon State Park.
