"Santa Clarita Valley: A Pictorial History" Volume II (1926-1976) is the sequel to the much acclaimed first edition that covered 1876-1926. Volume II includes hundreds of new historical photos — many of which have never before been seen — tracing 50 years of local history from the famous St. Francis Dam Disaster to the war years to the development of Interstate 5 and the community of Valencia.

Compiled by eighth graders at Sierra Vista Junior High School under the direction of instructors Philip Scorza and Frank Wright, this 65-page book is the second in a planned three-part series, with the third volume scheduled for production in mid-2002.

Volume II is available now for only $14.95 at:

  • The Signal, 24000 Creekside Road, Valencia
