Message from the Principal (Bill White)

Pg. 69

This has been a &great& year for Arroyo Seco. Our student leaders led the way by providing a wide variety of activities for the entire student body such as assemblies, dances and special events and continued to demonstrate &Seco Pride& by caring enough about our school to appropriate ASB funds to further develop our campus. The noontime intramural athletic program attracted hundreds of students who participated in athletic competition. Amidst all of this activity came time where students demonstrated a sensitivity of &caring for others& by helping needy families obtain holiday food baskets which came from student body donations.

Second semester found our curriculum being increased with the addition of a 6th period. All students were given the opportunity to select a second elective. Academic accomplishments at Seco continued to rank high as evidenced by the achievement level of our students on the competency tests in math, reading and written expression, all of which topped the national norms.

The Adopt-A-School program, sponsored by Hydraulic Research, again provided students with experiences in &the world of work.& Our school year was &highlighted& when Arroyo Seco was selected to be the workshop/visitation school by the Association of California School Administrators, Region 15. This selection was based on our school's exemplary programs which are a direct result of an exemplary faculty.

Let me commend our students on their accomplishments, our faculty for their dedicated efforts and our parents and community for their loyalty and support.
