DEDICATION

This year s Quest is dedicated to
Mr William Read, a most sincere and pleasant person
He is a cheerful, hardworking man and as a teacher, dedi-
cated to his profession

He was born in Pocatello, Idaho but, grew up in East Los
Angeles He graduated from Garfield High school and
went on to become a Navy Sonar Operator In 1947, he
retired from the service and joined the fire department
He became a captain while with the department and
retired with honors after 20 years of service During his
time with the fire department, Mr Read also attended
college at USC and received a degree in Public Adminis-
tration and Fire Administrator In 1956, he continued on
to get his Master's Degree in Education

Mr Read came to the Hart District in 1969 and has taught
at Arroyo Seco since
We, the Quest staff feel that Mr Read is an individual
who through his own ability as a teacher represents the
qualities of his fellow teachers
