Hey sophomores! Tenth grade, the year you learn to completely understand the
"unwritten" rules of high school. We were all proud to say that we were no longer
freshman, and finally we could be looked at in a higher perspective from our fellow
Canyon goers. Our confidence sure was boosted, wasn't it? Well now that's all gone.
What we thought it was like was all just a good dream that quickly ended. People still
mistake you for a freshman, you still get pushed in the hallways, and juniors and
senoirs still cut in front of you. Sorry guys you have to be at least a junior to get any
kind of respect! But don't feel blue. Someone still has to show those freshman whose
boss, besides it's been tradition since your great grandad's good old days. We all do it,
talk to the freshman thats is, and we walk away acting like the people we talk to are
juniors and seniors. It seems that in high school your grade and age gets you in places
year by year. So what _happened when the seniors graduate and the juniors are to cool
to talk to you? Youare put in a higher postion for the incoming freshman to look up at.
Sophomore year also comes with its bad side. You have to give up a elective classto
get your nose back in to the text books for moder civilization. Then more of your fun
time goes into home work rather than doing the things you like. The day might also
seem to go by slower since most of us are starting to get jobs. We are quickly starting
to evolve into the adults our parents have feared since the day we were born. Life has
surely gotten harder and in the future holds bigger more challanging obstacles as a
sophomore. Prepare yourselves your junior year is right around the corner.
