A LETTER FROM MR. MESSINA
"Be not afraid of growing slowly,
be afraid of standing still."
Chinese Proverb
These wise words can be applied in many ways- computer technology is certainly one of
them. To your grandparents, the computer is comparable to a telephone. The ability to
communicate at a moment's notice and to someone very far away is a very wonderful thing. A
computer, used appropriately, can be a real tool of communication. There is informatioin at
our fingertips of all kinds- news around the world about anything is a couple of clicks
away.
Research, check balancing, making reservations, purchasing goods, listening to music,
writing an e-mail are just a few things computers have made easier and quickert for us.
Speaking of e-mail- got about 75 to answer so gotta go. Remember- computers will
never have the human touch of a hand-written note, or the sound of a voice, or a smile on
your face has, so work hard to communicate in all ways.
