Reaching, teaching and achieving is what Operation US is all about. They are
a team that works together to make this world a better place. They meet
many times throughout the month to organize their presentation. They have
to be prepared to take on any situation. Working with sixth graders may not
be the hardest thing in the world to do, but it definitely is not the easiest.
Operation US goes to elementary schools throughout Santa Clarita to talk to
sixth graders about discrimination, stereotypes, and how to accept people
for who they are. These Canyon students want to reach these kids before
they get a taste of the "real world" because we all know this world is not the
most peaceful place to live in. They want to reach them about different
cultures, but at the same time, have them realize we are all the same inside.
No matter what someone looks like or how someone acts we are all people
with hearts that deserve to be respected under every circumstance. More
importantly, they want to achieve their goal by working together to make
new ideas, reaching people and teaching kids how to respect themselves as
well as others. When going out to these schools they must have an open
mind as well as an open heart. These days it is so important to be able to
accept people for who they are and not worry about the color of their skin,
how they dress, or where they come from. People are people and we are all
apart of this mixed up world. Operation US does everything in its power to
give their kids an opportunity to learn and accept other people in their
community. They don't think twice when it comes to lending a hand. This
campus club is for those of you who are against discrimination and want to
teach children who look up to you a better way of living. It doesn't take but
a second to change someone's life forever.
