                                               THE  TEACHERS'  CODE  OF  ETHICS
                       Believing  that  the  main  objective  of  education  is  service  to  m ankind  through  the  develop-
                   ment  of  the  whole  individual,  members  of the  teaching  profession  accept  these  responsibilities.
                   The  first  consideration  of  the  teacher  is  the  welfare  of  his  pupil.  He  guides  the  pupil  in  his
                   growth  toward  maturity,  preparing  him  to  be  socially an-d  economically competent in the school,
                   the  home  and  the  community,  and  to  be  happy  personally  as  a  responsible  member  of  society.
                       The  teacher  maintains  a  constructive  and  cordial  attitude,  guiding those  under his  direction,
                   cooperating  with  his  associates,  and  respecting  the authority of those  in  administrative  positions.
                   He  helps  to  improve  the  status  of  the  profession  by  developing  high  standards.  He  is  aware
                   of  the  values  of  professional  organization  and  works for their realization.
