FILMS IN REVIEW is a publication of the National Board of
Review of Motion Pictures, Inc. The National Board of Review
is an independent, non-profit organization of public-spirited
citizens founded in 1909 to represent the interests of the motion
picture public. The National Board maintains that responsi-
bility for good motion pictures is not the industry's alone but
that it is also the public's. Therefore the National Board reviews
films, classifies them, disseminates information about them, and
organizes audience support for them. The National Board
further assists the development of the motion pictme as enter-
tainment, as education, and as art, by providing media for the
expression of the public's opinions of films, and by organizing
motion picture councils throughout the country. The National
Board's offices are at 31 Union Square West, New York 3, N. Y.
