HORSE which rests on an oak base was
build in 1912 by the Philadelphia Toboggan
Company. For 50 years it delighted guests
at Savin Rock Amusement Park in West
Haven , Connecticut. This hand -carved
wooden horse was originally made for The
Grand Carousel. Purchased in 1971 by
Magic Mountain, the Grand Old Lady was
brought to California and restored to the
peak of its old classic glory. The antique
horse, which is 6' long and 5'7" high with
a 5'8" brass pole, is happily dedicated to
that merry-go-round wh·ich I ives in the
hearts of kids of all ages.
