In the 20th century, each generation was defined by common
elements of style, philosophy and attitude. Many would say
that we, however, are a nameless generation; we have no
common thread to call our own. In reality, we all share one
traitthat has put us in a different category than all those
born before us: ourconnectiontotechnology. This connec-
tion has allowed us to become more diverse and free-thinking
because of our unlimited access to media.
We are always redefining ourselves: our attitudes, clothing,
the music representing our beliefs and how we choose to be
seen. The new millenium has blossomed; music and other
media have taken a new spin. No longer do we have to wait
ourturn in airplayforwhatwe like, we have more choices
than everwiththe Internet and personal MP3 players. People
can choose to listen to folk, reggae, original British punk, or
hair metal without needing to find it in pre-programmed and
marketed companies like miv.
