I. Just the five of us. Junior Cory Chambers, Senior Randall Burnett, Senior Beau Carter, Junior Danny
Ramirez, and Freshman Eric Huezo made up the jazz band trumpet section this year. 2. Shake your bones.
As first chair sax, Senior Aleksandra Gajewski is sometimes required to play other instruments on specific
songs. 3. Something Borrowed. Twenty musicians make up the jazz
band and they all get up extra early to get to school on time to play
some jazz .. .well almost on time. 4. Drum solo! Junior Chris
Buongiorno keeps time so the band has something to follow. Chris
has been in the jazz band as a drummer for the past three years.
       5. Slap that bass. Freshman Bryant Panyarachum digs into his bass
guitar, giving a solid beat to help the band stay in perfect time. 6.
Music to my ears! The sax section plays in tune together to produce
a beautiful and harmonious sound. 7. How do
we look in black? The trombone section plays
their feature song called "How Do I Look In
Blue?" at the annual COC Jazz Festival. 8. Think
blue grass! Sophomore Douglas James concen-
trates hard on the current song so that he
doesn't miss any important chord changes that
help the other members in the band play their
       solos. 9. Spice
       things up! Senior
      Jackie Egger and
       Sophomore Alex
       Moore make up only
       a small section of the
       sax section. The jazz
       band has a specific
       design as to where a
       musican sits depend-
       ing on their instru-
ment to produce a well bal-
       anced sound. I 0. Norwegian
       Wood. Junior John Bissets
stands up to play his solo on
a fast jazz tune called "Norwe-
gian Wood." I I. It takes
       coordination. Freshman
       Lauren Anderson plays the
       piano confidently on an awe-
       some piece called "Hay Burner."
