Contributor Michelle Gonzales writes: "Same fields [original Canyon Country Little League fields]; same horses with Ruby and Neal Koopman's dog Skippy chasing the horses. The home they lived in is shown above. Ruby and Neal took care of the fields."

The original Canyon Country Little League played its first home opener (as Mint Canyon Babe Ruth Little League) on April 23, 1966, at 19004 Soledad Canyon Road, corner Crossglade Avenue. As the leased property was to be developed, in 1976 the league bought land at the north end of Solamint Road (18223 Solamint), off of Soledad Canyon Road, and played its first home opener at the new location April 17, 1976. A little over a dedcade later, the two ball diamonds were replaced by the Diamond Park Apartments (27940 Solamint Road), which were built in 1989 by G.H. Palmer Associates. The league moved to 16054 Sierra Highway in Mint Canyon. (Research: Tricia Lemon Putnam.)
