Houdeshell family, proprietors. Sign in window reads, "We operate our own modern plant" — "IN by 10 a.m. OUT by 5 p.m."

Both Howdy's and its next-door neighbor, Chitwood's furniture, occupied the building that now (2013) houses the Canyon Theatre Guild.

This section of San Fernando Road was later renamed Main Street.
