Esther (Callahan) and Robert Ralph Cesena Sr., Newhall residents, 1930s.
Robert was born in Newhall on April 11, 1910, to Leonardo Cesena and Erolinda Rivera Cesena. Esther was born in Denver, Colo., on July 21, 1915, to Ivan Callahan and Francis Pastor Callahan. Esther moved to Newhall at age 12, next door to Robert's home on Pine Street. They married in 1933 and had four children: Lorraine, Robert Jr., Charles and Bill. Robert Sr. died in 1980; Esther was 86 in 2001 and living in Palmdale. Identifications by Lorraine Cesena Leach, daughter of Robert and Esther Cesena.
