Borrowed from the owner in June 2006 for the purpose of photographing it. This is one of two types of tokens known for A. Staudy's pool hall/saloon.
One spells the name "Staudy," the other "Stauty."
Listed in Kappen ("California Tokens" by Charles V. Kappen, 1976) as
A. STAUDY / POOL / NEWHALL // GOOD FOR / 5¢ / IN TRADE.
We don't know who A. Staudy/Stauty was, or where his pool hall was located.
