August 13, 2017 — The husband-and-wife team of Dianne Gay Cox and Jack Infranca received honors Sunday as Rancho Camulos Museum's 2017 Volunteers of the Year.

The Castaic residents "have given tirelessly of themselves to make Rancho Camulos Museum a better place for our visitors and those of us who serve here," Executive Director Susan Falck said during the annual recognition dinner.

"Going back many years, they have done all kinds of projects that have benefitted Rancho Camulos, including working in our gardens, making various repairs, adding locks all over the property to make it more secure, cleaning, restoring and decorating the old (lavatory) and transforming it into a cozy man cave for the grooms who get married here," Falck said.

"They took the lead in putting the finishing touches on our small adobe building, overseeing the cosmetic repairs to the bathroom, helping us find shades for the building's many windows, and painting touch-ups," she said.

Most recently, while Dianne found custom-made shelves for the museum's new research library and worked with donor Marie Wren to catalog books, Jack — who also serves as the museum's treasurer — made it his mission to complete a lovely new walkway to the historic adobe in time for the library opening.

"I can still picture (Jack) making countless trips in his pickup to gather rocks from the quarry to create the border for the path," Falck said.

Rancho Camulos Museum is located 10 miles west of Valencia on scenic Highway 126. Visit RanchoCamulos.org.
