Marlee Lauffer joined Newhall Land in 1989 and is responsible for the Company's Marketing and Communications programs, including Media Relations, Community Relations, Public Affairs and Master Marketing. Newhall Land is the developer and planner of Valencia and its future Newhall Ranch.
Marlee is a past Chair of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce and the HMNM Hospital Foundation and still serves on both organizations' Executive Committees. She is also on the Hospital's Board of Directors. Marlee is on the Senior Center Foundation Board and involved with numerous nonprofit advisory committees. She chairs the Public Affairs Committee of the local Building Industry Association and represents Newhall Land as a director of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation.
Marlee is a Founding Director of the Bank of Santa Clarita and serves on its Board of Directors.
Marlee has been named a Woman of the Year by the California State Senate in 2008; Visionary Business Leader of the Year by the SFVBJ in 2006; and Betty Ferguson Foundation Woman of the Year in 2003.
Prior to joining Newhall Land, Marlee served as Chief of Staff to a Member of the California Legislature.* Marlee has a Bachelors degree in Political Science from UCLA.
Marlee and her daughter Katharine live in Valencia.
