Alfred J. Hallden
Aerospace Manufacturing Supervisor

Alfred Hallden of Valencia, California, went to be with our Lord on January 4, 2017. He was a beloved husband, loving father, supportive grandfather, a great-grandpa, and a great-great grandpa. He passed into God's hands at the age of 100½ after a battle with dementia while being bedridden for over a year.

He was born in 1916 in Youngstown, Ohio. His father was killed in a freak accident while moving a piano when Alfred was only nine years old. His mother was partially blind, so he became the "man of the house" and assisted his mother as a caregiver and a provider at the age of only nine.

He met the "love of his life," Bonita, in Junior High School. They became High School sweethearts and were married in 1936, a marriage which lasted over 79 years until the passing of Bonita in 2015. They moved to California in 1940, settled initially in the San Fernando Valley, and moved to Valencia in 1981.

Alfred lived a very full life and will forever be remembered for his strong work ethic and his quiet, easy-going personality. He was a strong believe in the Lord and knelt down on his knees at his bedside every night before going to bed. He loved his wife and all his family members. He retired after working 33 years in the Aerospace industry, supervising the manufacturing and reproduction of airplane parts for a variety of airline companies.

His greatest joy in life was being married to his wife, Bonita. His favorite hobby was golf, which became a passion after his retirement. He became a member of the Vista Valencia Senior Men's Golf Club and volunteered to work as a Marshall at the golf course for several years. He accumulated four "Hole-in-Ones" during his golfing days.

He is survived by his three children: Maureen, Charlene, and Gary; four granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. He will be missed by all of his family members, friends and neighbors. Services will be held on January 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Eternal Valley in Newhall, California.
