Ken Parks

Ken Parks, age 60, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Santa Clarita, CA due to heart problems. He was born January 28, 1954 in Buffalo, NY to Leonard and Stella (Cyrek) Parks. He was a resident of Youngstown, NY.

Ken was co-president and CEO of CouldB Entertainment with 31 years' experience in the entertainment business. Prior to helming CouldB, Ken was Vice President of Business Affairs at MTV for 10 years, overseeing day-to-day production and music for shows including "Buck Wild," "Nitro Circus," "The Dudesons," "Jackass 24," "Viva La Bam," "Boiling Points," "Stankervision," and "The Andy Milonakis Show". Before MTV, Ken was Vice President of Business Affairs Music for Warner Bros. where he negotiated a variety of music deals, including songwriters, soundtrack albums, publishing, composers and licensing for television series and feature films, such as "Night Court," "China Beach," "Babylon 5," "Batman Returns," "Unforgiven," and "Natural Born Killers". Previous to his 14 years with Warner Bros, Ken had similar duties at Universal Studies, ABC Television and Columbia Pictures.

Ken is survived by his wife Virginia (Jinny) L. Myers-Parks. They were married on August 9, 1986 in Denver, CO and had planned to celebrate their 28th wedding anniversary on a cross country Canadian train trip. He is survived by his beloved Havanese dogs, Oreo and Fernando.

He is also survived by his stepsons: Aaron K. Myers (Vangie) of Denver, CO and Justen T. Myers (Patty) of Lewiston, NY; his children: Dominic Guy of Brooklyn, NY and Lia S. Parks of New York City, NY; his grandsons: Arthur Renteria; Justen Myers Jr. and Michael L. Myers of Lewiston, NY; Brandon Turley Parks of Amherst, NY; his brother Gary (Jan) and niece Dale Marie Parks of Cheektowaga, NY. He was preceded in death by his niece Wendi Pelkey.

A visitation will be held at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321 on Sunday, August 10, 2014 with funeral services at 1:00 p.m. In addition, there will be a visitation on Thursday, August 14, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Otto Redanz Funeral Home, 2215 Military Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304 with funeral services on Friday, August 15 at 10:00 a.m.
