Kevin Gary Lynch
Attorney at Law; Former COC, CLWA Board Member


On Tuesday, October 9, 2018, Kevin G. Lynch passed quietly at the age of 85 years, surrounded by family and friends.

A longtime resident of Canyon Country, Kevin attended Loyola University as an undergraduate and earned his Law Degree from Southwestern University. During his 57 years as an Attorney at Law, he began his career as a Prosecutor for the Los Angeles City Attorney. He joined the law firm of Lewis, Varni and Ghirardelli and when he made partner the firm changed its name to Lewis, Varni, Ghirardelli and Lynch. Later, he formed the firm Lynch & Freytag with Marilynn Freytag before establishing the firm of Lynch & Lynch with his son Craig M. Lynch. Kevin served as the President of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association and as a California State Bar Executive Committee Member. He also a member of the College of the Canyons Board of Trustees and Castaic Lake Water Agency.

Kevin will be remembered as a loving husband and father. He was active in supporting the pursuits of his children including, Boy Scouts of America and the livestock programs in 4-H. He was a booster for all his children's and grandchildren's sports teams as well as his favorite college football team, USC.

Kevin is survived by his wife Jane (nee McCue) and her children John Kohut (Denise), Jean Kohut (Becky Ascencio), Bill Kohut and Katie Kohut (Jean Paul Bringuier); grandchildren Bryan (Ashley) Thrasher; Sarah (Faris) Batarseh, and Torrey Holmes; great grandchildren Julianna, Rami and David Batarseh; Dylan and Brooklynn Thrasher, and Averi Rose Holmes.

He is also survived by his first wife Edwina (nee Martin) and their children, Craig (Margaret), Brenda (Vince Silvestri), Laura (Robert Radanovich) Radanovich, Brian; and Maureen (Chris Vashel); grandchildren, Amie Chase, Alexandra and Ricki Radanovich; Cody and Wyatt Lynch; Jared and Tess Silvestri; Sean and Michael Lynch, and Cooper and Chase Vashel.

Services will be held at Eternal Valley Memorial Park on October 19 at 2 pm.
