Merle LeRoy "Red" Gilmour


Merle LeRoy Gilmour, 92, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Henry Mayo Hospital in Santa Clarita, CA. He was born June 20, 1922 in Burbank, CA.

Red was a resident of Castaic, CA for 92 years. A rancher all his life, he always had a small herd of cattle to watch over. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Village Church. He and his wife enjoyed traveling all over the United States during their sixties. He was a man of honor, a devoted husband, and father.

He is survived by his extended family: his step-son David McCoy Family: 1 granddaughter, 3 grandsons, 3 great-granddaughters; his sister Mary Jane Philips Family: 1 nephew and family, 1 niece and family; his sister Gloria Allen Family: 1 nephew, 2 great-grand nieces and families.

A viewing will be held 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 N. Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Eternal Valley.
