Raphael Thomas ("Tom") Parente passed away peacefully at his home in Santa Clarita at the age of 89. He was born in New York City on December 18, 1923, to Raphael Sr. and Rose Camera Parente. Along with his brother, Anthony and sister, Clara.
Tom grew up in Brooklyn N.Y. After graduating from La Fayette High School, he served in World War II in the Pacific theater. He returned home in December of 1945, met a young girl from Pennsylvania named Maybell Toth and married her on October 7, 1950. They had 2 daughters.
Tom worked for the U.S. Post Office for over 30 years. At retirement, he and his wife moved to Valencia to be near his daughter and grandchildren. He enjoyed poker, gin rummy and bridge. He was and avid sports lover and life long N.Y. Yankees fan.
He is survived by his wife Maybell, his daughters Rosanne Parente and Michele Parente Donatick (Richard) of Grayslake, IL and his granddaughter Kimberly Donatick and Denise Donative Passolt (Kevin) of Chicago. IL.
A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held on Tuesday May 28, 2013 at 11am at the Chapel of the Hills, Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary.
Tom will be remembered as a man of integrity, kindness, character and love. He will be missed by all who knew him.
