The final installment in the "Scary Movie" franchise stars Ashley Tisdale (Valencia High School Class of 2003) as a young mother whose
home is haunted by a mischievous demon. Co-starring Simon Rex as the husband, this comedy-horror spoof from Malcolm D. Lee and David Zucker features a bevy of random cameos — everyone from
Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan (as themselves in bed) to Snoop Dogg, Heather Locklear, Usher and more.
"Scary Movie 5" cost an estimated $20 million to make and grossed $78.6 million at the box office worldwide ($32 million U.S.) — making it the least
successful and (to date) the last "Scary Movie."
Child actress-turned-model, singer and television producer Ashley Michelle Tisdale ("The Suite Life of Zack & Cody," "High School Musical" franchise) was born July 2, 1985, in New Jersey, and she was 3 years old when a talent scout discovered her in a shopping mall. During her childhood she appeared in more than 100 television commercials and was cast in theater and television shows. At age 12 she sang for President Bill Clinton at the White House.
Tisdale attended Valencia High School from 1999 to 2003, during which time she was signed with the Ford Modeling Agency alongside Lindsay Lohan and Mischa Barton.
In 2004 she was cast as Maddie Fitzpatrick in Disney Channel's "Zack & Cody," and she achieved stardom as Sharpay Evans in three "High School Musical" films beginning in 2006. That same year she signed with Warner Bros. Records and became the first female ever to debut with two songs simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 chart — "Bop to the Top" and "What I've Been Looking For," which were duets she recorded with Lucas Grabeel from "High School Musical." She also guest-starred at Valencia High School's Homecoming celebration in 2006.
Her debut album, "Headstrong" (2007), included her most successful single to date, "He Said She Said." Two years later came a second studio album, "Guilty Pleasure."
Around 2010 she formed Blondie Girl Productions and started producing reality television shows geared toward millennials, notably "Young & Hungry" on ABC Family (aka Freeform). Her older sister, actress Jennifer Kelly Tisdale (b. 1981), earned a degree in screenwriting from Cal State Northridge and later joined Blondie Girl.
In 2014, Ashley married musician Christopher French. In 2018 she bought her cruelty-free makeup line, Illuminate by Ashley Tisdale, from BH cosmetics, running it as a direct-to-consumer standalone. In November 2018 she released the first single ("Voices In My Head") from her first album in a decade, "Symptoms" on the label Big Noise. Unlike the kid-oriented work of her youth, each song on "Symptoms" is named for a symptom of the anxiety and depression she has openly discussed and dealt with. "I've co-written every song on the album and it's so personal to me," she said in a statement. "Symptoms" is expected for full release in 2019.
