Castaic High School Construction Site Tour, 12-19-2018
Romero Canyon | Castaic, California

December 19, 2018 — Castaic High School is on track for its opening in 2019 and William S. Hart High School District administration officials, along with local media, went on a tour of the campus on Wednesday, December 19.

The 58-acre campus is expected to hold 2,600 students at capacity. It will host ninth-grade students when it opens in 2019 and add a grade every year after. The only major building not expected to be complete by the time the school opens is the Performing Arts Center, said Project Manager Randy Wrage. That building would be completed soon after opening the school.

The $126.2 million contract was awarded to Castaic High School Construction Inc., which is comprised of Wrage, Larry Rasmussen, Brooke Rege, in October 2016 with the notice to proceed grant in February 2017.

The school will feature a new program called iCAN Academy, which would provide dual credit opportunities through Hart District and College of the Canyons — much like the Academy of the Canyons.
