Narrative: Private Acuna was reported Missing In Action on July 31, 1950. The fact of his death was ascertained two and a half months later. Approximately a year after his death, in June 1951, his body was shipped to San Francisco and returned to his family for burial. His mother, Micile Acuna, lived in Saugus. His sister, Sally Acuna Augiula, lived in Northridge.
