July 2, 2012 — Valencia resident Sharon Divis stops by the Big Oaks Lodge, 33101 Bouquet Canyon Road, for a drink at the snack bar and takes some pictures. With her were her mother, Bonnie Tolbert, her daughter, Samantha Divis, and Elsie Dillewaard, a close family friend. They are seen in the photos; Sharon is not.

A month later, the lodge was sold and its liquor license transfered from Diana M. White to Hitendra D. Golakiea. The purchase price was $315,000 and included the buildings, fixtures, brand name and leasehold interest from the U.S. Forest Service. As with most businesses and residences in the Angeles National Forest, the federal government owns the land.
