A memorial service for Armen (Kazarian) Logian, 75, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Friday (August 1, 1986), at Eternal Valley Memorial Park. Mrs. Logian, who was born in Kars, Armenia, died July 28. A naturalized U.S. citizen, she and her late husband, George, both emigrated from Armenia as youngsters when their families fled the persecuted country. Mrs. Logian was a resident of Saugus for 40 years. In 1946, the Logians purchased the Falls Cafe and Store in Bouquet Canyon, at the entrance to the Falls Campground in the Angeles National Forest. Mrs. Logian cooked and served short orders and homemade Armenian dishes, and her husband entertained the diners with his eloquent tales. In 1949, they bought the nearby Big Oaks Lodge and began serving shish kebab dinners, "chuckwagon'" style, in the rustic Bouquet Canyon setting. The Logians' sons, who grew up there, helped with the cooking, bartending, table-waiting and entertainment. Mrs. Logian continued to operate the lodge after George died in 1970, selling it in July 1974. Mrs. Logian is survived by sons Mitchell ("Mickey") Logian, of Newhall, Louis ("Louie") Logian, of Newhall, and Arthur Logian, of Saugus; nine grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Interment will be at Eternal Valley.
