· My Words Were Insignificant
I escaped and walked through the world
where my words were insignificant,
beaten down,
stepped upon as maggots,
where my words were cast aside.
I escaped and walked through the world
where I met grievance holding suffering's hand,
my most potent enemy,
a parasite feeding on affliction,
where I met my greatest fears.
I escaped and walked through the world
where I touched it all, and yet found nothing,
touched the dazing flames of hell,
intolerable ache that's been burning
deep inside,
where I touched deep down inside my stone
cold bleeding heart.
I escaped and walked through the world
where I buried my broken thoughts,
my larcenous hand,
my rejected desires,
where i buried the hollow soul I carried
which wasn't even mine
