The 1986 Junior varsity and varsity bad-
minton teams both came in 4th place in the
pacific league with a record of 4-6. The
award winners for this year are, for varsity:
Most valuable; Tammy Wheeler and David
Masters, Most Inspirational; Linda Powell
and Jim Petrovich, Most Improved; Dan
Fuller, and a tie bettween Cinnamon Varela
and Cary Rush. The Junior Varsity award
winners are: Most Valuable Christine Long-
well and Larry Pimental, Most lmpirational;
Alexis Ponattelli and Johnny Espinosa, and
Most Improved; Nicole Bouthiller and Jeff
Herbert. This is the last year that there will
be a badminton team at Canyon, because
after 1 7 years of coaching the sport Mrs.
Masters is retiring. We would like to thank
Mrs. Masters for her many years as our Bad-
minton coach.

Dave Masters, Warren Griffith, Ralph Barasaccnio, Tim
Brown, Tammy Wheeler, Ron West, Cinnamon Varela,

2. Junior Varsity- Dawn Hagopian, Cheryl Neff, Chris-
tine Verelli, Christine Longwell, Nicole Bouthiller, Mrs.
Masters, Julie Hung, Warren Goenner, Bill Abbott,
Johnny Espinosa, Larry Pimental, Denise Alleman, Lisa
Dod, Christen Lignther, Alexis Donattelli, Andrea Coats,
Shannon Coultas, and Tracy Sanchez.
