Cross  Countrv..


                            Running  for  sport,




                            the  Cross  Country  T earn  laid  a  solid
                            foundation  of experienced  long-distance
                            runners  for  future  years.  With  Coach
                            Anthony Grande, a new faculty member,
                            captains  Larry  Gump  and  Jim  Vaught
                            produced  a  good-looking  team ,  even  if
                            the  scores  weren 't  tops.
                              In  addition  to league competition , the
                            Cross  Country T earn  participated  in  the
                            M oorpark  Invitational,  the  Mt.  Sac  I nvi-
                            tational  and  the  Fillmore  Invitational this
                            year.
                              The  year  was  capped-off with  the  an-
                            nual  banquet at which  the  various  award
                            winners  were announced.  Randy  Huntzik-
                            er  captured  the  most  improved  runner
                            award .  The  Athletic  Scholarship  was
                            taken  by  Randy  Lusk.
                              Diane  Gruber,  the  team's  head  cheer-
                            leader  was  named  the  Cross - Country
                            Sweetheart,  an  appropriate  reward  for
                            her  faithful  support.
