Complimentary Membership for Volunteers

Thank you for your volunteer service to the museum family!
Active members of the Volunteer Programs of the Natural History Museum,

La Brea Tar Pits & Museum, and the William S. Hart Park & Museum automatically receive
a complimentary museum membership as a benefit of your volunteer service.

Your Volunteer Membership includes:

Free admission for YOU, including temporary or seasonal exhibitions. This membership is designated for you as an
active volunteer or docent, and cannot be transferred to anyone else- you earned it!

Free admission for up to TWO guests per visit. This includes free admission to temporary or seasonal exhibitions
like Butterfly Pavilion and Spider Pavilion, or Tattoo: An Exhibition, throughout their run.
Free tickets to First Fridays at the Natural History Museum for you and your two guests. (Tickets limited and RSVP

required. They sell out quickly!)
Free tickets to Ice Age Encounters and Titans of the Ice Age at the La Brea Tar Pits & Museum for you and your two
guests.
Complimentary subscription to the Naturalist, the Museum’s member magazine.

Invitations for volunteers and two guests (volunteer must be present with guests):

o Member Preview Days for exhibition openings
o Special gatherings hosted by the Advancement Department

10% discount at Museum Stores and on Magic Memories Photos during your visit.
Member discounts on classes, public lectures, special experiences, field trips, summer camps, birthday parties,
and more! (Some discounts apply only to you as the volunteer member, and some to guests with the volunteer pre-

sent)
Important Notes:

A membership number will be issued to you by the Membership Department. It will be different and separate
from your volunteer pin number. Enter the museum through the Member Line using your photo ID.
This membership is a benefit for volunteers and docents who meet the requirements of “active” status within the
Volunteer Program. Your membership will expire upon leaving the Volunteer Program.
Volunteer Memberships are the equivalent of an Individual Membership. At your preference, volunteers and do-

cents may upgrade their Membership Level by contacting the Membership Department.
Volunteers with existing Memberships of Family Level or above will remain at that level with an opportunity to
renew.

You will receive your membership number via email, and instructions on how to secure tickets for yourself and
your guests.
