Varsity Coaches

Mike Halcovich - Assistant Coach
This year Coach Halcovich will begin his sixteenth season on the Hart Football Staff.
Coach "Halco" has coached the receivers and the secondary for the past ten years,
developing many All-CIF and Division I athletes. Mike is also an assistant varsity
coach for the very successful Hart High baseball program, which captured their first
CIF Championship in 1999. Coach Halcovich, who is also a Hart graduate, works for
the Hart School District. In his spare time, Mike enjoys fishing, golf, and other
outdoor activities.

John Ahart - Assistant Coach
John Ahart begins his seventh season as athletic trainer and coach for the Hart
Football Program. John has also served as Hart's Girls' Head Track Coach for three
years, winning two Foothill League titles. Coach Ahart has also coached tennis and
soccer at Hart. John is currently the advisor for the Hart Academic Team. Coach
Ahart is an award winning Science teaher. He has earned degrees from the
University of South Dakota and the University of La Verne. John and his wife, Tracy,
enjoy fishing and gardening.

Dave Lind - A.thletic Trainer

Dave begins his third year at Hart and his 36th year in sports medicine. He has been
involved in all levels of football, including the Dallas Cowboys and Cal. Lutheran.
Dave has worked at Henry Mayo Memorial Hospital as an emergency room
technician for the past 11 years. A graduate of Cal. Lutheran, Dave and his wife,
Nancy, live in Valencia with their daughter Sarah, who .attends Hart.

Larry Fiscus - Coach/Equipment Coordinator
Larry has been the most important man in the Hart athletic program for the past 25
years. He began his career as a manager while a student at Hart in the early 1970's.
Larry also handles the equipment and operates the score boards for other sports on
campus. In addition, he helps the Varsity Baseball team, which won their first CIF
Championship in 1999. He is also a regular contributor to the College of the Canyons
athletic programs. Larry lives in Saugus.

Davis Delmatoff - Assistant Coach
Coach Delmatoff returns to the Hart coaching staff to assist with the receivers and
defensive backs. The last three seasons, Davis coached at Alemany where he was the
offensive coordinator. He began his coaching career as an assistant on Hart's J.V.
team in 1996. Davis was an All-CIF QB at Hart in 1992. He played QB at Pierce and
Valley Colleges. Davis attended CSUN and lives in Valencia.
