OUT-OF-TOWN CALLS

STATION CALLS ... just say to the Op.erator, "I want (city), (telephone number)." This is when
you will talk with anyone who answers.
PERSON CALLS ... just say to the Operator, "I want (city), (telephone number), (name of person,
extension number or department)." This is when you wish to reach a particular person, or a
particular extension telephone or department connected through a private switchboard.

COLLECT CALLS . .. just say to the Operator, "I want to place a collect call to (city)." Then give the
information for a Station or Person call.

OVERSEAS CALLS ... just say to the Operator, "I want to place an Overseas Call to (country)." The
Overseas Operator will then assist you. The rates are surprisingly low. Some typical weekday rates
are shown on the inside front cover under Overseas Calls.
CONFERENCE CALLS ... just say to the Operator, "I want the Conference Operator."

CALLS TO AUTOMOBILES, TRUCKS and TRAINS ... just say to the Operator, "I want the
Mobile Service Operator."

CALLS TO SHIPS and AIRCRAFT ... just say to the Operator, "I want the Marine Operator."
