We have discussed the feasibility of Mogul 1629 using Metrolink's tracks with Mr. Francisco
a Oaxaca of Metrolink. He indicated that Metrolink has significant concerns regarding this
proposal, and that it is extremely unlikely that such a proposal would ever be approved.
0 Given Metrolink's negative position regarding using their tracks and connecting to those at Hart
Park as well as the incompatibility and liability concerns of this Department, we can see no
purpose in extending these railroad tracks.
0 We are concerned that the County's position on the track extension may have been misrepresented
in fundraising efforts for this project. We apologize for any inconvenience the delay in our reply
0 may have caused your organization. We are confident that the Historical Society's Board will
properly convey our position in the future.
0 We appreciate your interest in and support of historic preservation in your community. If you
have any questions, please contact Ruth Roess ofmy staff at (213) 738-2054.
