Marine fossils embedded in a concretion, with a bivalve (clam), found 4-1-2014 on a ridge past the western end of Warmuth Road in the Sand Canyon section of Canyon Country.

Marine fossils occur in the Castaic Formation (late Miocene, 11 to 5 million years old), which overlies the older Mint Canyon Formation.

The bivalve measures 3 inches at its widest point.
