Established in Hollywood in 1919, NSS created a niche and soon was generating about 90 percent of all promotional materials, including trailers, for motion pictures in the United States (as National Screen Service Corp.) and the United Kingdom (as National Screen Service Ltd.). In the U.S., NSS was successfully sued for monopolizing the market; after 1943, it no longer distributed advertising materials directly and instead contracted with regional distributors. That didn't happen in the U.K., where it continued producing trailers until 1986 and was bought out by Carlton Communications in 1998. Directed by Robert Sparr from a story by George Schenck, "More Dead Than Alive" filmed in June 1968. It premiered in the U.S. on January 15, 1969, but wasn't released in British theaters until March 12, 1972.

"More Dead Than Alive" also stars Paul Hampton, Craig Littler, Mike Henry, Clarke Gordon, Beverly Powers, William Woodson, Harry Lauter, Eric Matthews, Robert Foulk, Frank Baxter, Andy Albin, Emile Meyer, Orville Sherman, Arvo Ojala, Fred Scheiwiller, Walt La Rue, Frank Babich, George Sawaya, Mickey Simpson, Jon Ojala, Wayne Taylor, Robert Carter and Ron Heller. Uncredited cast includes Stephen Burnette, Fred Carson, Albert Cavens, Chester Hayes, Carol Henry, George Hoagland, Daniel Nunez, John Quijada, Robert Robinson, Cosmo Sardo, Ted Smile, Charles Soldani, Tom Steele, Robert Strong and Arthur Tovey.
