George Jr. (1904-1958) was the son of George Almer Newhall (Sr.) and Caroline Taylor. He was an officer in the company in the 1920s and managed the Meridian
Ranch until 1937 when he had a falling out with then-president Atholl McBean, a counsin's husband, who had taken control of the company in 1933.
George Jr.'s brother Walter Scott (1908-1960), the youngest grandson of Henry Mayo Newhall, served in the Navy and joined the board of Newhall Land in 1951.
